About
The Story
Behind the Work
LaQuetha is an educator and expert teaching artist with over two decades of combined experience in elementary education, dance, arts integration, and inclusive, participant-centered instruction. She founded Collage Afrique Arts to bring African dance, storytelling, and (with youth audiences) literacy into the spaces where people of every age gather to grow — schools, community centers, senior programs, wellness retreats, stages, and classrooms.
Her practice braids together personal expression, emotional well-being, collaboration, and — in school settings — academic literacy. Through workshops, residencies, community programming, and educator training, she equips groups with tools that move beyond performance into genuine cultural learning and personal empowerment.
The next chapter of her career — and the heart of Collage Afrique Arts — is the consultancy: helping schools, organizations, and community groups build sustainable, joyful, arts-rooted programs grounded in heritage and rigor.
